Ludhiana, June 25, 2025:

A highly engaging and informative Cyber Security Awareness Session was organized at the Knitwear Club, Ludhiana, aimed at empowering local industrialists and entrepreneurs with essential knowledge to safeguard their businesses against cyber threats. The session was conducted by Ms. Ishu Thakur, State Coordinator (Punjab) from the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), a leading organization committed to strengthening the resilience of micro, small, and medium enterprises.
The session witnessed an enthusiastic participation of stakeholders from the textile and knitwear sectors and was graced by prominent dignitaries of the Knitwear Club, including Vinod Thapar (Chairman), Darshan Dawar (President), Rajesh Arora, Kewal Bhudi Raja, Narinder Miglani (General Secratary) and Gurneet Singh, Consultant, Knitwear Club. Their presence highlighted the collective commitment of the Ludhiana business community towards embracing digital safety in an increasingly technology-driven industrial ecosystem.
During the session, Ms. Thakur shed light on the growing incidents of cyber fraud, data breaches, phishing scams, and ransomware attacks targeting MSMEs, which often lack structured IT security protocols. She emphasized the urgent need for awareness, employee training, and adoption of cybersecurity best practices such as regular data backups, use of antivirus software, secure digital payments, and password protection measures. She also introduced government schemes and technical support available for MSMEs to build cyber resilience.
Vinod Thapar, in his address, appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of building digital defenses alongside business expansion. "With increasing dependence on digital platforms, cyber awareness is not optional anymore—it is essential for survival and growth," he stated.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, where participants actively raised concerns about online transaction safety, data protection, and cyber insurance, which were effectively addressed by Ms. Thakur.
The Knitwear Club reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more such capacity-building sessions for its members in collaboration with experts and government bodies, ensuring Ludhiana’s industrial base remains competitive, secure, and future-ready.
