Director Industries accepts demands of electroplating industries delegation

The delegation of the Ludhiana Electroplaters Association, led by its President Shri C.P. Sabharwal along with Sh. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Secretary and Rajan Gupta, Vice President met with Sh. D.P.S. Kharbanda, IAS, Director of Industries and Commerce Punjab, cum Chairman of the Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society for Electroplating Industries (LETS), at his office in Udyog Bhawan, Chandigarh today. The association expresses its gratitude for the patient hearing given by Mr. Kharbanda. It is encouraging to report that most of our significant demands have been accepted during this meeting. Key outcomes include:
• Election Process Adjustment: The election process has been deferred by 15 days; it will now commence on December 10 instead of November 25.
• Eligibility Criteria: The eligibility criteria has been modified and now any partner irrespective of his share percentage i.e. holding even a 1% share is eligible to contest elections.
• Voter List: The voter lists shall be corrected and include the names of owners i.e Proprietors/Partners/Directors. Membership forms of all 1607 members will be provided to General Manager, District Industries Centre by interim secretary on 29.11.2024 and list of membership shall be amended by including the names and contact details of owners i.e Proprietor, Partners or Directors.
• Voter Slip Issuance: Voter slips will be issued only to owners i.e Proprietor, Partner or Directors of member unit upon presentation of either an Udhyam or GST Certificate; proxies or substitutes will not be permitted and only the owners i.e Proprietor, Partners or Directors shall be allowed to cast votes.
• Voting Accessibility for Amritsar Members: Members from Amritsar will now be able to cast their votes at a designated booth at the office of General Manager, District Industries Centre, Amritsar, eliminating the need to travel to Jalandhar.
• Dues Clause Removal: The previously mandated clearance of dues of operator has been removed on our demand.
• Private Limited Companies Participation: The participation criteria for Private Limited Companies have been rectified.
Regarding Balance Sheets, Director of Industries and Commerce Punjab cum Chairman LETS has directed Interim secretary to prepare and submit all the pending Balance sheets to his office.
The Ludhiana Electroplaters Association appreciates the constructive dialogue and looks forward to continued collaboration with the Directorate of Industries and Commerce Punjab cum Chairman of LETS to ensure fair practices and transparency within the electoral process of LETS.
